Idli Rice or Parboiled Rice (1 & 1/2 cup)
Urad Dal (1/2 cup) /whole or split
Methi Seeds or Fenugreek Seeds (1/2 tsp)
Water (2 cups approx.)
Utthapam Batter:
Make the Utthapam batter as directed in Gharguti.
Ingredients for garnishing:
Onions & Tomato
Jalapenos, Ginger & Garlic
Mushrooms
Directions
- Finely dice the vegetables
- Mix them together and add Salt and Pepper to taste
- Heat the pan
- Spread the batter with a ladle and garnish it with the vegetables
- cover the batter with a lid and let it cook on low flame
- Flip the Uttapam when cooked from one side
- Serve it hot and eat with a Green Chutney
