Ingredients

  • Mackerel, split lengthwise, along the middle bone, without making two half

  • 2 small size Onion, cut into small pieces

  • Masala Paste

  • Everest Kashmiri lal Chilli Powder – 3 Tablespoons

  • 1 Teaspoons Haldi Powder

  • 2 Teaspoons Jeera Powder

  • 1 Teaspoons Cloves

  • 1 Teaspoons Pepper

  • One 4 Inch Cinnamon

  • A Ball of Tamarind

  • 1 Teaspoon Salt

  • 4 small cloves Garlic

  • 2-inch piece of Ginger

  • 1 – 2 Tablespoons of Sugar

  • 1 teaspoons Mustard

  • lemon size Tamarind

  • ½ to 1 tsp vinegar

  • Salt to taste

  • All ingredients are ground to fine past with minimum quantity of water & vinegar.

Directions

  • Split the mackerel lengthwise, along the middle bone, without making two half
  • Mix masala paste with finely cut onion pieces and stuff this mixture in the mackerel slit.
  • Leave it in for about 5 – 10 minutes and fry on tawa with oil, preferably using coconut oil.
  • Enjoy masala stuffed mackerel – goan style with rice
